  • Disease & Pest Log — the problems you noted on plants in this bed.
  • Notes & Observations — anything about the bed itself, plus its description.

Bed notes

The things only you know about a bed.

The corner that stays soggy. The spot that gets afternoon shade. The soil test from last spring. Add a quick note to the bed and it’s there every time you plan it.

🟧 Notes & Observations

+ Add Note

General bed description

Full sun from 9am. Sandy loam, drains fast except the northeast corner.

Northeast corner stays soggy

Water pools there after rain — add compost and grow something thirsty in that corner next spring.

Soil test: pH 6.4

Good for most roots. Added a bag of compost before the autumn sowing.

Guide

Bed History, how do I…?

Short answers. Tap a question.

Where is a bed’s history? +
Go to My Garden and tap View History on any bed. Everything about that bed opens in one place.
How do I add a note to a bed? +
In the bed’s history, open Notes & Observations and tap + Add Note. Give it a title — like “Northeast corner stays soggy” — add details if you want, and save.
What goes in the Disease & Pest Log? +
Any Pest or Disease note you add to a plant growing in that bed. So next year you’ll see “Carrot fly damage” right where it happened.
What does Most Grown mean? +
The plant you’ve grown most often in that bed. Tap the card to see the details.
How far back does it go? +
Free accounts see the last 3 months. Pro keeps 3 years, so you can see what grew in a bed seasons ago.
What is the Bed Health score? Pro +
A score out of 100 made of four equal parts: how varied your crops are, how well you rotate, how few pests and diseases you’ve had, and how good your harvests were.
What is a rotation warning? Pro +
If you plant the same plant family in a bed two seasons running — tomatoes after peppers, say — the app warns you, because pests and diseases build up in the soil.
Where does Try Next get its ideas? Pro +
It suggests crops from a different family to the ones grown in that bed in the last two years, that fit the current season — and your proven top yielders there.
What is the Layouts tab? Pro +
Every time you save a bed, the app keeps a picture of its layout. Open Layouts to see how the bed looked in earlier seasons.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Why keep a history for each bed?
Because every bed is different. One stays wet, one gets carrot fly, one grows amazing tomatoes. When the history lives with the bed, you plan the next season with your own experience — not guesswork.
What is crop rotation, and why does it matter?
Moving each plant family to a different bed every year. Pests and diseases that like one family build up in the soil if it’s grown in the same place again. EdenVatika tracks families for you and warns before you repeat one.
Is Bed History free?
Yes — every bed’s planting history (last 3 months), its pest and disease log, and your bed notes are free. Pro adds 3 years of history, AI Insights with rotation warnings and suggestions, and saved layouts.
Do I have to type the history in?
No. Plantings, harvests and the pest or disease notes you add to plants all land in the right bed by themselves. You only add notes about the bed itself.
