Getting started

Three steps to a garden you remember

  1. 1

    Garden as usual

Tick jobs and log harvests — they go into the journal by themselves.

  2. 2

    Add the moments

A note when you spot aphids. A photo when the first tomato blushes.

  3. 3

    Look back

Scroll your timeline, make a timelapse, or export the season.

Guide

Garden Journal, how do I…?

Short answers. Tap a question.

How do I add a note? +
Open My Plants, tap the plant, then Add Note. Pick a type (General, Health, Growth, Pest, Disease or Milestone), write what you see, tap how healthy it looks, and save.
Do I have to write everything down? +
No. Watering, feeding and other jobs you tick on your To-Do List, plus harvests and sowings, land in the journal by themselves. You only add what you want to remember.
How do I add photos? +
On the plant in My Plants, tap Add Photos. Take a photo or pick from your gallery — up to 5 at a time — and choose a type like Progress or Milestone.
Can a photo count as a harvest? +
Yes. Choose the Harvest photo type and tap roughly how much — Handful, Bowl, Basket or Bucket. The photo also logs a harvest, so it counts in your harvest totals.
How do I make a timelapse? +
Take at least 3 Progress photos of the same plant over time. Then tap Create Timelapse, choose the speed and some music, and the video is made right on your phone.
How do I find an old entry? +
Use the three filters at the top of the Journal: time (Today, This Week, This Month, This Year or a custom range), plant, and activity type.
How do I log something I sowed without a bed plan? +
Tap Log a Sowing in the Journal. Pick the plant, the date and how many — a bed is optional.
How do I download my journal? +
Tap Export. You get an Excel file with a separate sheet for each kind of activity. Free exports cover the last 15 days; Pro can export any dates.
Where are the charts and season comparisons? Pro +
In the Analytics, Seasons and Varieties tabs of the Journal.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is a garden journal?
A diary of your garden — what you planted, how it grew, what went wrong and what you picked. EdenVatika keeps it for you, mostly automatically, so next year you know exactly what worked.
Is the journal free?
Yes. The timeline, notes, photos, timelapse videos and a 15-day export are free. The free plan includes 15 notes and 10 photos a month; Pro has no limits and adds the Analytics, Seasons and Varieties tabs.
Who can see my journal?
Only you. Notes are private. A timelapse is only shared if you tap Save & Share and send someone the link.
Can I keep my journal if I stop using the app?
Yes — export it to Excel any time. Everything you’ve already created stays in your account, on any plan.
