An example garden. Overview, Nutrition, Harvest Value and Performance use the numbers in the screenshots below.

The real thing

Your season, on one screen.

Open Analytics in the Journal and the first thing you see is the big picture: how much you harvested, what it’s worth, and your top three crops — this year or all time.

  • Best crop, biggest day, food grown and on-time care at a glance.
  • Harvest by Crop — which plants actually filled your basket.
  • Garden Health Score, space used, and yield per square foot.

Food you’ve grown

Not just pounds — vitamins and meals.

The Nutrition panel turns your harvests into food: calories, protein, carbs, fibre — and how many days of one adult’s needs you grew.

“261 days of vitamin K, mostly from spinach.” That’s a garden that feeds you.

Harvest value

See which crops earn their space.

Every harvest priced at what it would cost in the shops — added up for the year, and split by crop. Lettuce may surprise you.

Use it to decide what deserves more room next season.

Performance

How many plantings paid off — and why the others didn’t.

Success Rate shows how many finished plantings gave a harvest. What You Lost shows which plants died and what killed them — only from losses you recorded.

Plus harvest quality, your top performing plants, how fast crops really took, and saved seed vs bought.

Every plant, its own story

Tap any plant. See every time you’ve grown it.

Tap a plant anywhere in Analytics and its profile opens: how many times you’ve grown it, the total yield, the average quality, a yield bar for every grow cycle — and plain advice from your own history.

  • ⏱️ “Expect your first harvest around 60 days after planting, based on your history.”
  • 📅 Your best month to start it, and 🌤️ your best season.
  • 📈 Whether your yields are trending up — or ⚠️ dipping.
  • 🛏️ Which bed consistently grows it best.
  • ⚖️ A nudge if some harvests were logged without a weight, so you know the numbers are complete.

Seasons

Spring, summer, fall, winter — side by side.

The Seasons tab compares harvests, weight and quality for each season, with the top plant of each. Then year over year, so you can see if you’re getting better.

Varieties

Which tomato really won?

Grow more than one variety and the Varieties tab tells you which one gave the most, which tasted best by quality, and which ripened faster or slower than the packet promised.

Guide

Garden Analytics, how do I…?

Short answers. Tap a question.

Where is Garden Analytics? +
In the Journal. Tap the Analytics, Seasons or Varieties tab at the top.
What do I need to log for the charts to fill up? +
Mostly harvests — with a weight if you can (Handful, Bowl, Basket or Bucket is fine). Ticking your jobs, noting pests and recording losses fill in the rest.
How do I switch between this year and all time? +
Use the This year / All time switch at the top of Overview, or This Season / All Time on Nutrition.
How is the nutrition worked out? +
From the weight of each harvest and that crop’s nutrition per 100 g. “Days of food” compares the calories with one adult’s daily needs.
What does Success Rate mean? +
Of the plantings that have finished, how many gave you at least one harvest. Crops still growing aren’t counted yet.
Where do the loss numbers come from? +
Only from losses you recorded yourself — like frost, pests or animals. Nothing is guessed.
How do I see one plant’s whole history? +
Tap the plant anywhere in Analytics — in Harvest by Crop, Top Performing Plants or Nutrition by Crop. Its profile shows every grow cycle, the total yield and advice from your own history. Tap Timeline → to see its journal entries.
How do I compare varieties? +
Pick varieties when you plant in the Garden Designer and log harvests. Then open Varieties, choose a plant and a year, and see which one gave the most.
Which seeds did better — saved or bought? +
Link a seed packet when you plant. Seed Source Performance then compares saved and bought seed, crop by crop.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is Garden Analytics free?
No — it’s part of Pro. Every new account gets a free Pro trial, so you can see your own numbers first. The Journal timeline, harvest log and Season Review stay free.
Do I need a scale?
No. The quick sizes (Handful, Bowl, Basket, Bucket) give the charts a good estimate. A scale just makes them more exact.
Are the grocery values exact?
They’re estimates at typical store prices, kept on the cautious side — a gut-check, not an accounting. You can set your local prices to Lower, Typical or Higher in Settings.
What happens to my data if I stop Pro?
Nothing is deleted. Your harvests, notes and plantings all stay in your account; the charts simply lock until you come back.
