How it works

One photo. A clear answer in seconds.

Tap Identify on your dashboard, choose Diagnose, and take a close-up of the leaf, stem or fruit that looks wrong.

  • Works on any plant — vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruit, houseplants.
  • Spots diseases, pests, viruses, nutrient problems and weather damage.
  • Analysed on your device — photos are not stored.

The answer

Healthy, a problem, or “not sure yet” — never a wild guess.

The top of every result tells you the most important thing first, in colour. Green is good. Orange means a problem to treat. Red means act now.

If the photo isn’t clear enough, it says so — and shows you how to take a better one — instead of pretending to know.

  • A confidence score on every answer.
  • How serious it is: Low, Moderate, High or Act now.
  • Other possibilities, so you can double-check.

Name that plant

Found a plant you don’t know? Ask it.

Switch to Identify, snap the plant and get its name. Tell it which part you photographed for a better match.

When it isn’t fully sure, it asks “Does this look right?” instead of guessing. If the plant is in the Plant Library, you can open its full care guide in one tap.

Guide

Plant Doctor, how do I…?

Short answers. Tap a question.

Where do I find Plant Doctor? +
On your dashboard, tap the Identify card (“Plants & problems”). Then choose Diagnose to check a sick plant, or Identify to name one.
How do I take a good photo? +
Fill the frame with the affected leaf, stem or fruit. Shoot in daylight or open shade, never under a bulb. Hold steady and let the camera focus. Photograph the plant itself, not a picture on a screen.
What does “Not sure yet” mean? +
The photo wasn’t clear enough for a confident answer. You still see the closest match, plus tips for a sharper photo — try again with a close-up in good light.
What does “Act now” mean? +
It’s a problem that spreads or kills fast, like late blight or wilt. The steps under What to do now come first — do them today.
What if it’s not the first answer? +
Read Does this match? — a short list of signs to check on your plant. If they don’t fit, look at Easily confused with and Other possibilities underneath.
Does it work on houseplants and fruit trees? +
Yes. The health check looks at the problem, not the plant, so it works on vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruit and houseplants alike.
How do I name a plant I don’t know? +
Switch to Identify, add a photo and tap Identify Plant. You can tell it which part you photographed — leaf, flower, fruit, bark or the whole plant — for a better match.
How many photos can I check? +
Each scan uses 1 AI credit. You get 10 a day, up to 150 a month — the same credits the AI Garden Planner uses. They reset daily.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is Plant Doctor free?
It’s a Pro feature. Every new account gets a free Pro trial, so you can try it on your own plants first — no card needed for the trial.
Do you keep my photos?
The health check runs right on your phone or computer. Your photo is analysed on your device and is not stored.
What can it spot?
30 common problems: fungal and bacterial diseases (like powdery mildew, blight and rust), pests (aphids, spider mites, whiteflies, slugs…), viruses, nutrient problems (like nitrogen deficiency and blossom end rot) and growing conditions (like drought, frost and sunscald). It can also tell you a plant looks healthy.
How sure is the answer?
Every result shows a confidence score. When it’s low, it says “Not sure yet” instead of guessing — and tells you how to take a better photo. A second opinion never hurts for anything serious.
Does it tell me what to do?
Yes. Every problem comes with plain steps: what to do now, and how to stop it coming back.
